Clinic Profile

Christ Clinic opened its doors in May 1991 to provide quality health care to low-income persons with limited or no medical insurance. Our services began as the vision of four dedicated physicians who recognized that rising health care costs were driving uninsured individuals and families to use the emergency room for any acute health related need. The resulting critical care fees were passed along to the consumer, resulting in higher overall medical costs that crippled the financial future of many patients.

Of greater concern, the uninsured had no means to access basic health care. Whether it was seasonal illness in a young adult, chronic ear infections in a child, or diabetes in an elder adult, the uninsured were missing the routine care essential to long-term health. The expectation was that the need for our services would be short-term; instead, demand for services rose steadily until we are now a stable health care provider to 7,000 uninsured and under-insured patients.
